About Us

Kurland Insurance has been a family business serving the Chicagoland area since 1949. The founder, Joseph E Kurland Jr. was an attorney & insurance adjuster while building his insurance agency. In 1974, Charles Kurland joined the agency after graduating from St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN, and in 1976 the Agency was incorporated naming Charles President. In 1979, after working 11 years as a court reporter, Thomas Kurland joined the agency. While attending Leo High School, both Tom & Charlie gained valuable experience working in the agency, so the insurance profession came naturally. In 1987, Tom & Charlie purchased the agency from their father Joseph, and in addition to the office at 81st and Kedzie, opened an office in Orland Park, IL. In 2002, the agency continued into it’s third generation when Matthew Kurland was hired to help expand the agency’s services.  With his knowledge from Southern Illinois University and having gained experience in management/sales in the transportation industry, Matt proved to be a great asset to the agency.  Since joining the agency, Matt has headed our Life, Health & Employee Benefits Department and continues our professional commitment of service to our customers. Today, the agency has 9 licensed agents and is located in Orland Park, Illinois. The Kurland Staff averages 16 years experience per agent and is continually expanding on our tradition of service to the Chicagoland area.

Our office hours are Mon-Thurs: 8:30 am – 8:00 pm, Fri: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm & Sat: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

As we continue to enhance our products and services, our most recent additions have been Met Life, Travelers, and Chubb Ins Group.  These companies were added to our list of A+ Rated companies for their excellent products and proven history of superior claims service. 

In addition to our Employee Benefits department, we have expanded our services to include UNUM and Aflac to provide businesses with additional voluntary and employer sponsored Benefit Plans. Also, the addition of  Alliance Benefit Group helps us to continue to grow our already robust 401(k) and Retirement Plan offerings, ensuring your company & your employees are getting the best plans to suit your specific needs.
